ACSEL Technology Forum, an AI Centre of Excellence under the aegis of the IIT Alumni Centre Bengaluru (IITACB) and supported by the Government of Karnataka, successfully concluded its first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Reimagining AI, in Bengaluru.
The two-day global gathering brought together technologists, policymakers, industry leaders, and academicians from India and abroad to explore how Artificial Intelligence is transforming India’s economy, workforce, healthcare, education, and governance. The conference served as a platform for meaningful dialogue on both the opportunities and responsibilities that accompany rapid AI adoption.
Panel discussions highlighted AI’s dual impact—accelerating productivity, innovation, and efficiency, while also presenting challenges related to job transitions, ethical governance, data privacy, and social equity. Speakers emphasized the need for thoughtful regulation, responsible deployment, and inclusive growth as India scales its AI capabilities.
The conference also looked ahead to the future, encouraging participants to collectively envision how AI can be shaped to serve society while safeguarding human values.
Speakers underscored the importance of proactively managing AI-led automation through large-scale reskilling initiatives, inclusive policy frameworks, and a strong focus on human-centric innovation.
Focus sectors: Healthcare, climate, and education emerged as priority sectors where AI can create meaningful impact—improving access, enabling advanced climate modelling, delivering personalized learning, and enhancing outcomes. Participants stressed that these gains must be supported by ethical guardrails, transparency, and accountable governance mechanisms.
A recurring theme was the need for a multi-stakeholder approach—bringing together government, industry, academia, and civil society—to ensure that AI development remains responsible, equitable, and aligned with public good.
Looking ahead: The inaugural conference reaffirmed ACSEL Technology Forum’s commitment to fostering informed, inclusive, and forward-looking conversations on emerging technologies. By convening diverse voices across sectors and geographies, the forum aims to help shape a future where AI innovation remains firmly rooted in societal good.
